The Ram TRX’s supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI® V8 engine produces an earthquake-inducing 702 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque—the same engine featured in Dodge’s Hellcat® Muscle cars. That sets the TRX up to easily eclipse whatever figures the Raptor’s V6 can bring into fruition. The half-ton Hellcat® has a top speed of 118 mph and launches from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds.
At the root of it all, the Ram 1500 TRX’s off-road-tuned suspension uses active damping with unique Bilstein shocks, plus coil springs in the front and rear. It has a solid rear axle with an electronic locking rear differential and a five-link rear suspension. With up to 11.8 inches of ground clearance, the new Ram TRX should be able to ford up to 32 inches of water.
The Ram 1500 TRX borrows its sense of interior refinement from the original Ram 1500 truck line. The truck features sumptuous materials and impeccable insulation from outside noise. The standard Crew Cab unloads mounds of extra interior space. Every TRX has a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™, and built-in navigation. The Ram also debuts FCA’s first available head-up display as well as drive modes and off-road pages within the Uconnect system. Other terrain-conquering features found in the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX include trail control, a 360-degree camera, trailering aids like reverse steering control, and an optional digital rearview camera that provides a wider line of sight than the traditional rearview camera.
