After an antagonizing wait, the results are in for the 2019 Jeep Cherokee’s IIHS safety testing and the report card is nothing less than fridge-worthy. Read on to learn more about the 2019 Jeep Cherokee IIHS safety ratings and Top Safety Pick award.
The Top Safety Pick designation applies to 2019 Jeep Cherokee models produced after April 2019 that are also equipped with:
- Full Speed Collision Warning with Crash Mitigation
- Automatic High Beam Headlamp Control
Both of these systems are available as part of the Cherokee’s available Technology Group. This package is available in Limited, Overland and Trailhawk models of the 2019 Cherokee lineup.
In the IIHS’s front crash prevention tests, the Full Speed Collision Warning with Crash Mitigation system on the Jeep Cherokee was able to avoid collision completely in both the 12-mph and 25-mph track test. With “Good” being the highest possible rating, the 2019 Jeep Cherokee comes back with top scores in all six Crashworthiness tests.
